Jeep, Scooter, Taxi and other transportation
For those wishing to explore Cayo Guillermo and its surroundings, there are several options available to you. It is always nice to discover what a destination offers to its visitors. Wherever possible, it is preferable to move by day, because the roads are not lit.
Unfortunately, to discover the real Cuba, you should opt to purchase one of the excursions offered by tour operators at your hotel. Cayo Guillermo is a small isolated island which is connected to the main island of Cuba by a dam in the sea of more than 27 kilometers. The nearest village is located 105 kms Moron. It is impossible to reach by scooter nor bicycle.
Moron is the village that most hotel employees live. Besides, to facilitate transfers, the Cuban government began a construction of several thousand rooms near the toll station at the entrance of the long causeway called « Pedraplen ».
Note that the marine excursions include bus transfers between hotels and the marina of Cayo Guillermo, located about 5 minutes from the hotels. A project of a dolphinarium is supposed to be built in the marina area. For now it is only a draft. Revisit us to know more about this project always very popular for tourists. Currently, the closest dolphinarium is located in the province of Cienfuegos. Several hours drive from the hotel. There is also another dolphinarium under construction in Cayo Ensenachos.
